Privacy Policy — AI Rankster

1. What we process

AI Rankster reads product and shop content from Shopify Admin API to generate optimization output for metafields and structured data.

We do not overwrite native product descriptions.

2. Data we store

• Encrypted Shopify OAuth credentials: offline access tokens, refresh tokens, and token expiry metadata (used only to call Shopify Admin API on your behalf).
• Shop-level settings and enrichment job status.
• Token usage aggregates (counts only, not generated copy).
• AI output is stored in Shopify metafields under namespace airankster, not as full-text content in our database.

3. Customer personal data

AI Rankster does not request customer or order scopes and does not intentionally store customer personal data (PII).

4. Data retention and deletion

• On uninstall: app access is revoked in our system by marking the shop session as uninstalled.
• Mode A retention: metadata required for continuity may be retained so merchants can reinstall without full reprocessing.
• customers/data_request: acknowledged and handled per Shopify compliance process.
• customers/redact: acknowledged; no customer records are expected to be stored by AI Rankster.
• shop/redact: processed as a mandatory compliance event. Related app-side shop data is deleted or anonymized as required by applicable obligations and internal compliance policy.

5. Processors and infrastructure

AI Rankster may use service providers for hosting, database, and AI processing (for example Vercel, Postgres infrastructure, and OpenAI) solely to provide app functionality.
